You must have got me wrong. I am not referring to the movie Dekada '70 by Lualhati Bautista. I am referring to, perhaps the story line of the movie, the situation during Marcos' regime. I don't really know when has it became my interest when it comes to Philippine history.
Last night, I was watching a documentary about Ninoy Aquino entitled Ninoy Para sa Pinoy hosted by Piolo Pascual (who portrayed Ninoy in 2 episodes of MMK dedicated for him, which I think was shown during the 25th anniversary of either Ninoy's death anniversary or the EDSA People Power I). For my evaluation essay for EN11 class, I chose to evaluate Marcos if he should be buried in the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani or not. I really made effort for this paper. I read books and stayed on the American History section of our library just to have a grasp of written materials during Marcos' time. I also watched Batas Militar, which is a documentary about, obviously, the martial law in the Philippines (and it's available in YouTube, by the way).
I wish I could have the chance to take that one special class in our school (Hi 189.10: Special Topics in Philippine History: The 70's State, Economy and Society in Time of Conflict and Change) in due time.
